ABOUT
Are you a first responder? Are you having difficulties dealing with everyday life tasks? Whether on the job or not?
It’s okay to not know where to start. As a first responder, you are not used to reaching out for help yourself. Reaching out for help may be scary, but we can start together. Help is here for you. It is time, as a first responder, to put yourself first.
As a former first responder, I am equipped with knowing how difficult the job can be. I will use a collaborative approach, using a judgment-free environment. I specialize in anxiety, depression, and stress management. If you are overwhelmed, sometimes being in the present moment is not an option. With so many thoughts and feelings rushing through you, it may even be difficult to complete your duties. Let’s put your restless mind at ease so that you can be in the present moment. With the training and techniques that I am equipped with, we can accomplish this together.

Professional Counselor

Hello, My name is Brooke! I am a former first respondeer, who pursued a career in mental health counseling. Throughout my own life experiences of anxious behaviours and thoughts, I know first hand how difficult it is to deal with mental health issues. The stigma that is built around therapy can create an unhealthy barrier to becoming your own true self. Let's break down that barrier together!

Consultation

The first step to reaching out for help is to get in touch via email or phone call for a free 15 minute consultation. From there, we can set up our first session together.

What does therapy look like?

My goal as your counselor is to create a comfortable, reliable, safe space for you to be able to express yourself. Creating a great client-therapist relationship is crucial to reaching your goals. Together we can collaborate and explore your thoughts and feelings. Therapy looks different for everyone. Some first steps can include tailoring a treatment plan and setting goals. Depending on the treatment plan and goals, each therapy process can look different. Some techniques that I incorporate into therapy include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness.

Sessions

Sessions are 45 minutes long. The frequency of sessions is dependent upon your goals. I only do Telehealth sessions and will send you a secure link for our sessions. For each session, the cost is $50.00. I do not take insurances.
